Abstract Submission:

The abstract structure should be as follows:

1. The title should be in bold with appropriate words capitalized
(150-maximum cha racter limit, including spaces).
Example:
Molecular Phylogenetic Analysis of Genes of the Carotenoid Pathway in Cucurbita

2. Provide a complete list of authors, with full names (including MI) for each author.

3. The abstract should not exceed 250 words and may be written in English or Spanish. The text should include the project objectives, brief methods, quantitative results, and the significance of your findings. Abstracts should be composed in Microsoft Word for Windows, single-spaced, in Arial 12 pt. font.

4. A maximum of 3 keywords should be included.

Abstracts should be submitted electronically, through our website, on or before July 1, 2006. Authors should indicate their preference for an oral or a poster presentation by checking the appropriate box on the Abstract Submission page. There are a limited number of oral presentations, so submit your abstract early to ensure a space. Participants are en couraged to present their research findings in the poster section to expand the presentation of material, facilitate discussion of research results, provide interaction among members, and diversify the meeting format. Also, when submitting the abstract, please check the appropriate box indicating your commodity area (fruits, vegetables or ornamentals/landscape. You will be notified by email by July 15, 2006 as to whether your abstract has been accepted. The email will specify if the work will be delivered as an oral presentation or as a poster, and further instructions for presentation or poster preparation will be provided. Reasons for rejection will be provided to authors of rejected abstracts.
